Opening Statments:

A lot has changed since the last Newsletter in the summer of 2013 was published. This Newsletter will only focus on the Prussian Armee changes that have occurred from November forward. Many members have come back to the Armee & the Club, including myself. (Scott Ludwig) In the time gone the Armee & it's structure varied drastically from previous years. The other Coalition forces were structured differently too. The Prussian Armee had been reduced to an Armee-Korps (Army Corps) & the larger forces over it, the Combined Austro-Prussian-Swedish Army had been reduced to a "Contingent" status. It was decided to reelevate the largest forces, including the Combined forces, back to army levels, but the Austrian, Prussians & Swedes were still kept at corps levels.

So a structure for the new Prussian forces needed to be decided on. It was agreed on, by the Prussian officers, that a mix of 1813 Befreiungskriege (Wars of Liberation), also known as the War of the Sixth Coalition period and the 1815 Waterloo (100 Days) Campaign period units would be used, similar to much of the old army level order of battle from several years ago. A new, rather large, Armee-Korps was created, using a mix of units from both those periods and taking units from almost every Prussian and other German realms that were in those campaigns. This is why units from Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Lützow Freikorps, Hessen-Kassel, Anhalt-Dessau and the Saxon & Thüringen Duchies were used. This on top of numerous Prussian territorial units, to create a very large Armee-Korps. It is our hope, one day, we can return to a full Armee status, but this is an excellent compromise I think. As we've added in units we've never used in our old order of battles before, that I really wanted to use in the past.

Having come back, I was asked & accepted the Kommandeur des Königlich-Preußischen Armee-Korps position and invited an immediate group of former members & leaders of the Armee back who had left between 2013 and now. I also started the task of creating a new website, or more accurately restoring the old one and updating it. Some things have changed, a lot is the same. Some pages we used in the past have been retired, but most are here.

The Club is starting to grow again & the Armee-Korps has some new officers in it too. I will be inviting some of the other former officers back too after the New Year.

I wish to say it is great to be back & I look forward to a new chapter in Our Glorious Prussian forces.
