Registration :

Registration for the 1999 Allied General Tournament is still possible but you will be put on reserve players list. Membership of the International Wargame Club is not obliged. Registrations can be done by e-mail to tourney master Riker . Please let me know (1) your nickname; (2) your skill level and (3) the names of wargame clubs where you are an active player.

Organization :

The concept of the 1999 AG tourney is that 46 players are playing in this tourney. The six best players of last year are free in round one, giving the other players the opportunity to have more interesting games. Round 1 started February 1st with 8 groups of 5 players. Best ending players of every group will qualify into 2nd round, where also the best 6 players of last year will start their tourney. Round 2 will have 6 groups of 5 players and best 2 per group qualify. Round 3 will have 4 groups of 3 players and only winners qualify. Round 4 is semi-final with 2 groups of 2 players with winner going thru to final (round 5).

Basic rules :

  1. All players need to have version 1.1 of the game.
  2. Players have to take into account that passwords have to be presented to tourney master. In case of: prestige bug, a dispute between both players or when score clarification (on last turn) tourney master will use password to examine the files. So take this into account when picking your passwords.
  3. Players may have to play several games simultaneously during rounds. An average of at least two moves per game per week is required.
  4. All players have to cc copy ALL MOVES to tourney master.
  5. Replaying turns is NOT allowed and is considered cheating!
  6. In case the prestige bug shows its ugly head: notify your opponent and tourney master at once. In case of an amount just under 65,536 try to get over this threshold and your prestige amount will be back to normal again. In case of an amount around 60,000 always end your move above this amount. Prestige can be obtained by eliminating or damaging enemy units. Normally you also gain prestige by taking objectives or non-objectives, but I also have seen that this did not work. If this happens to you, please notify me. Always first try to gain as much prestige as possible (and go over the 65,536 or 60,000 threshold) before spending it. In case you are not able to get over the 65,536 threshold you cannot spend any prestige!!!... In case of doubt consult tourney master.
  7. In case you cannot answer a move within 3 days on receipt, you have to notify your opponent.
  8. In case you haven’t received any move from your opponent within a week, tourney master has to be notified and your opponent's replacement in tourney might be considered.
  9. In case a game did not finish within the time set for it, penalties will be given to the player(s) who delayed the game too much without a valid reason. Warnings to slow players will be issued by tourney master first.
  10. Level bombing of empty objectives is not allowed (this is to prevent prestige bug).

Qualification :

The best players of each group qualify for next rounds. In the first round 3 players finishing as 1, 2 and 3 in group qualify. In case a player ending as 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a group gets disqualified, player(s) who ended as 4th in their group(s) with the most points, also will qualify. Scoring: Every objective held at end of game counts as 1 point. For every turn a game is concluded in a victory before last turn, another point is scored. In case players end with an equal score after a complete round, player who held most non-objectives in all games within that round will be higher in rank. And in case players would then still be equal, the kills inflicted and the losses taken in complete round will decide.

Ladder scoring :

Scoring for the International Wargame Club ladder is only possible for members of IWC. The amounts will be decided later upon. Players who are not a member yet can register themselves at the: International Wargame Club

Scenarios :

The scenarios for round one are Dniepr and Korsun. Each scenario might have additional rules.

Miscellaneous :

In case of any dispute that is not covered within these rules, tourney master decides unconditionally.

New players can always call for assistance from me, Riker, AG tourney master.
