History of the 7th "Bavarian-Highlander" Brigade:
(Former Command of Scott Ludwig)
Formed from nothing more than a ragtag bunch of Scots, Irish, Welsh and Bavarian immigrants, the Brigade was formed at Norfolk Virginia of all Volunteers. Every single one from officers on down were all immigrant volunteers whom fought for the land that gave them freedom from tyranny. It didn't matter for them what side they fought on, they fought for Virginia because that's where they landed in the first year of the war. They were told of great glory they could have and did a mighty noble service to Virginia. From the defense of that state, to the glory they found out west under Cleburne's Command. At Fredericksburg the 7th was forced to fire on their own kind, immigrant Celts and Germans of the Union Army. There they fought off the Irish Brigade, upon their retreat the 7th gave the Irish Brigade a giant cheer and 21 gun salute. The Commander an over cautious and calculating Bavarian from Munich, the Brigade has seen thick and thin, and one day will be glorious.
