Hi Rich, Yes, as I mentioned earlier on this thread, I considered making an optional scn that changed the pdt so line would disrupt in woods, But as I rethink this process, I still don't like the idea. But as I said, I'll bring it up with the other designers. Rich <blockquote id="quote"><font size="... |

Rich, Though I'm sure a reasonable and logical case can be made (as you and Bill have done), I would rather not impliment that type of radical change into the system at this time. But I will bring up the subject among the other designers and then present it to John if I'm the lone man out. But just ... |

Hello Bill, I didn't mean to imply that your opponent was not a good player, but just for kicks, see if he can do the same thing to you. As for your you line disruption idea, I can't go for it. I've played these games too long to change and make that kind of radical alteration. I've always said that... |

It might be possible to create that effect in the pdt file. I could always create a variant with that as an option. Actually, I mean line disruption through woods, not every terrain. As for the scn balance, I have many examples of both sides winning. But perhaps you should switch sides and see if he... |

Guys, I set up a game using the same settings and played it solo, I could not duplicate the problem. However, when I played Hanks file I lined up the units facing eachother and only one rebel unit would fire and no Union units. I sent John Tiller the files and info, so maybe he can come up with a be... |

Can you printscreen your rules and place them here? I don't play phased games, but I tested it with Man Fire on with both Shiloh and Gettysburg, and got the same results. I also toggled the ADF on and off and still got the same result. So I'm not following what's going on. Rich <blockquote id="quote... |

I don't see how a firing problem can be restricted to a single side. But I'll check it out. Would anyone care to playtest this problem with me? Send me a game file to richardw@multipro.com

Just an update, I play tested the 002 scn and found that both sides were able to fire defensively. Also, I changed the DF range back and forth from Max to Min and back again and found no difference. I'm afraid the unlucky side not firing is most likely, just that, unlucky. But the idea that the ADF ... |

Guys, Lately I have been working on a patch for Shiloh. Here is the text for the changes file. Let me now if there are any other changes that need to be made (not engine changes). I have found that when advancing on a unit through the woods, defending units are more likely not going to fire. But that is not a game design feature, but rather a programing feature. But we did not encounter this type of problem in testing, so it might just be bad luck. The A/I fire that you menti... |

I'm glad there are people out there that know more about this stuff then I do. It's a good idea to bounce ideas here! Any other thoughts? One thing that can be fixed by the designer is wagon movement. I have given alot of thought to this and I'm leaning toward giving supply wagons the same movement as infantry (on roads, pikes and trails). What do you guys think?
