Col Ludwig, Apparently some explanations are in order because none of the three involves infections, illnesses or rebel cooking in that Possum, grits, corn bread and wimpy 1.2% beer are NOT involved. Spotted Dick: A type of bread pudding with raisons, often served with custard. Toad in the Hole: Por... |

Ola,
Since we've deviated from the serious, some advice. Take along a bar soap for those times you need to foam at the mouth (because you won't find any there!). [;)]
Glad we could offer some advice.
Best wishes,

Ola, There are two major differences between the two armies: size and quality. The Union has more poorer quality troops that are almost uniformly well equiped and are backed by a large artllery corps. Union leadership in the games is of variable quality. The Union also normally has better supplies t... |

I received an e-mail today from Mark addressed to the AoO IX corps explaining why he needed to be inactivated (assigned to hospital). Mark had a problem with his left eye on the 22 Apr resulting in the permanent loss of some of his vision. I'm sure that all members of the club wish the best for Mark... |

OK gents since this WAS a British theme I propose everyone have a nice order of Toad in the Hole, followed by Spotted Dick and all washed down by Black Sheep's Riggwelter.
Enjoy!

Yes sir it is. I've been surprised by the number of people within the club who say they're from York or Yorkshire. Perhaps a local gathering would be welcome at a village hall for a multiplayer game would be an idea worth investigating.

Where to start? I was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1959 where my parents were attending university. My parents worked for the US government (not the military) so we moved around a bit. I graduated from high school in Lincoln, Nebraska. My start in gaming was in a club at boarding school with... |

Tony, We found it easier to set up if you had a small manila envelope for each division. This allowed to quickly select the divisions of interest (352nd, 21st Pz, 1ID, 29ID, etc) without having to sort a couple thousand units. This reduced set up time to merely 3-4 hours. Your could always use the t... |

Am I the only one who thought The Longest Day was a pretty good game? Yes the first turn typically took 4-5 hours but after that things flowed pretty well and for a board game they handled attrition and replacements, at least at the division level, pretty well. I have a copy (also Terrible Swift Swo... |

Sir,
Do you have a preference? I'm also relatively new to the club and I'd like to try one of the full Shiloh scenarios. Let me know your preferences.
If you have another preference please let me know.
