I recall a story in one of the many war books I've read, about soldiers from Waffen SS units arriving in the west (probably from 9th & 10th SS Panzer Divisions) directly from the eastern front and being "amazed" when, around late afternoon/evening after heavy fighting that day, an unof...

I'm trying to complete the colourised Leader pictures for the Ozark release. I'm struggling to find a copy of a print that HPS used for their original Leader Bitmap. He appears in Ozark as Union Colonel George Hall ...but I'm certain he's a "ringer" using the photo of another, quite possib...

D'oh! please excuse me. My opponent has just pointed out that the "ask before advancing turn" option in the settings menu offers a perfectly adequate safeguard against the problem I mentioned. I really have been playing long enough to be aware of that one already! I stand by my observation...

After all these long years of gaming I just tonight suddenly realise how much of a difficult relationship I have with the in-game Toolbar. It's the buttons ...I just feel they could be bigger. I try to play with the most efficient combination of mouse & Hot-key controls that I can but clicking o...

I've got to say it seems very unlikely that any unit was fully equipped with a modern repeating rifle as early as April 1862, at least not as far as Regimental establishment is concerned. For a start, I don't think any of the accounts I've read mention such a unit being present and it would surely b...

Fantastic!!! This looks GREAT. "Major General Arnold McSchwarzenegger leads his legions of 3 month warranty cyborg volunteers into a titanic fight to the death with the Rebel hordes of atomic death zombies". Features 8 new levels of secession mayhem and a lycra clad Abe "The Emancipat...

I think my greatest need during game turns must be for background music. My ACW game installs are now each typically 1.25 GB's in size of which just over 1 GB is wav. sound music files! To augment the HPS files I have the soundtrack to the film "Glory", the theme from "Gods and Genera...

No, sorry, as far as I can tell it's not a feature that can be changed by the user. You appear to be stuck with the icon as per the standard design.

You're telling me that the creek hexside appears on the map display as a creek (dark blue) ...but when you right-click on the adjacent hex to check it is actually a stream?! That will be a new one on me if so. I've never noticed that before in any of the HPS games. Accident ...or a deliberat...

I'm puzzled at the nature of the problem itself. Are you unable to gain adequate info from the map display in 2D? What view are you using for planning? I know that creeks can be unclear in 3D but I've never known of any planning and recce problem with regard to creek crossings specifically. It would...

Whoo Hoo! If we can really go to town on the oob's and have what amounts to an Army construction kit I would like to: 1. Add Patterson with 10,000 men to the Union Army at 1st Bull run so I can end the Civil War before it gets strated. 2. Similar to Bill, totally rearrange the Union army at Getty al...

Next game to get in my opinion: Gettysburg gives you access to the most played scenario in the 3 -Day battle and the best opportunity for playing in multi-player games. Lot's of interesting hypothetical situations and big scale battles. Antietam gives you three important historical battles n the one...

I just placed a post for an opponent needed in the "non sanctioned games" section of the opponent finder forum. Looking at it and the number of postings / replies in that area I thought that it might amount to the same as putting up a flyer in the dark corner of a locked room ...with few p...

Any officer interested in playing a "friendly" scenario on this game with me? I am an experienced player, though a novice on the Panzer Campaigns titles. I have a particular interest in the May '40 campaign and would enjoy the chance to play out some introductory battles (any size and rule...
