There is a factor involved in the careers and subsequent reputations of all the ACW Leaders that I feel deserves more acknowledgement: The ACW, just as with all "Civil" wars, sets Armies that are equipped, organised, trained and led in an almost identical way against each other. It can be ...

I used to expect to lose a significant number of Leaders during any average to large sized scenario. I wouldn't normally lose anything above Brigade level commanders but I would still lose enough of them to see a significant drop in the integrity of my Army command bonuses. Playing in ignorance desp...

I'm very surprised you haven't seen many large hits in your games. My record, which I must adnit I do not expect to see beaten, was a 256 loss inflicted by my stack in a phased play defensive fire phase. Not sure which game it was on but it was only fairly recently. I seem to recall it was likely to...

I've always thought it a shame that the Leaders don't feature more in the way of command benefits and at least some difference to effect when mounted or not mounted. Think Hancock at Gettysburg on Day 3: He got on his horse and stayed on it despite the acknowledged fact of there being an increased r...

Thank-you gentlemen, thank-you. ( A single manly tear runs down his cheek to drop from his quivering jaw). High praise indeed to be awarded an honour such as this by such an esteemed organisation, I accept it very gratefully. I'm pleased that the teams work has proven to be so popular and I would li...

I feel it must be 1st Bull Run / Manassas. The ACW saw a whole load of command blunders but Robert Patterons failure to keep a grip on Johnston in the valley has real implications for the North, perhaps it even amounts to the single biggest error of the war? Patterson was an experienced soldier and ...

There just aren't enough people (young people) interested in History generally or the ACW in particular to expect any viable market for these type of games to continue on a large scale and in the long term, at least not in the connexion we would understand which is the excellence of these games in f...

Most (all?) of the HPS games are now patched so that the A.I handles both it's offensive & Defensive fire phases by Stack rather than indvidual Units. This change was implemented to speed up the pace of game play. Is there any widely held sentiment that the game benefits or suffers as a result o...

Avoid Turn based games at all costs and return to the "purists" camp of Phased play. A junior Reb officer tempted me out into a Turn system game before Xmas and I regretted my lapse the moment contact was made. I'm surprised that you, being a Reb, remarked in such a negative opinion on tur...

Ride with the Devil "awful"?! Maybe you you saw a different film by that name to the one I saw? RwtD is excellent I thought. Tobey Maguire is ok in it and I thought the story was generally well told. I'd definitely add it to a DVD collection ...though maybe only if I picked up a ba...

A while ago someone made an observation about an aspect of the graphics Mod work completed recently by the Old Banshee team... It regarded the fact that the new graphics generally reduce the Artillery units to using a single generic Unit Card for all the guns Sections/Battery's regardless of the wea...

Right, a rather slow response gentlemen ...which is a shame I must say, but we now have enough players to get things rolling with a 2 versus 2.
Room for an additional player on each team as the forces come into play.
