Say an artillery battery comes under close assault in a HPS, Phase-based mode game with the Full Melee Defensive Fire and Automatic Defensive Fire options active. Can the battery conduct both normal ADF and then full melee defensive fire in the same turn if they are meleed? And in the latter case is...

General Simms is correct in that the various game designers did not follow a more standardized and easier method of scenario identification in their various titles. It can all be very confusing and frustrating for the newer players. The method that General Ringbloom outlines is still the best for th...

I can certainly see one large, or maybe two smaller packages, coming out on the 1864/65 Grant/Lee campaign, loaded with all of the historical clashes and a lot of good "WhatIf" scenarios! HPS cannot come this far without ending it properly! General Jos. C. Meyer Commander, Army of the Tennessee acti...

Col. Ellis, We have it on something of good authority that most of the unsuspecting, junior officers in this list were last seen being escorted into Miss Clarissa's Tavern for a "friendly" drink! Please advise us if any of them are still in there. General Jos. C. Meyer Commander, Army of the Tenness...

My warm congratulations and acknowledgement to Gen'ls Hartwig, Mullins and Dowling for their former contributions. Such service is an important and necessary mainstay in the successful operation of a field army. It is my distinct honor to have them all now serving as officers of the Union Army of Te...

I think Mark's asking about "Chateau de Goat," Cam! Mark, if you do an archive search for "Chateau de Goat," in the MD Tavern, AoG (Miss Clarissa's) Tavern and AoC (Woodin Injun) Tavern, you will find it mentioned liberally as a southern concoction that Cam put together to defy my cast iron stomach!...

For some time now the ACWGC Union Army has not had a distinctive device by which the services of an officer who has been either appointed or elected to a High Command position may be recognized. This has now been addressed by the Union Army Awards Committee, which recently has approved and installed...

You are all too kind! But I suspect that I may have been the victim of a conspiracy to chain me to the computer at the expense of my wife's affections! I asked her if she'd like to have one of my stars, but she said "NO!" Then, when I asked her if she would like to join me in a rousing chorus of "Ma...
