It's been my experience that this isn't very points-effective for the opposing officer. Whenever I've seen it done, the position may have taken some time to reduce, but mounted cavalry is so vulnerable to infantry fire that I've often gained far more than I've lost from the artillery. It's an annoya...

I recieved Campaign Chickamauga, and promptly got trounced in a short non-club game. Ouch. As for Foote, I've been using him to get a picture of the entire war. After I read Volume 1, I read books about each of the major campaigns that took place during that time frame (Bull Run, Shiloh, Peninsula, ...

If this is the case of Col. Robert Murphy, when the Confederates under Gen. Price advanced into Iuka, then he was indeed relieved and courtmartialed by Grant. He did set fire to the supplies and retreat, but the Confederates retrieved most of the supplies. Thus, if you follow the historical example,...

The units that we consider "elite" were all well ordered and disciplined units. We need to keep in mind that every time we fire, we're representing 20 minutes of continuous action. Units didn't necesarily just stand still and bang away at one another; there would be all sorts of actions included in ...
