You never read about an ACW soldier getting snake bit, but that is bound to have happened with them running through woods and bushes. Can you imagine a skunk trapped between advancing lines at Shiloh or Antietam because dead or alive it was going to stink up the area and maybe change the direction o... |

For those who have a few thousand dollars that they would like to spend on some of Gen Sherman's personal items, such as his sword, your opportunity is right around the corner: https://www.military.com/daily-news/2024/04/15/civil-war-general-william-t-shermans-military-sword-family-bible-and-other-p... |

I welcome the change of colors for the Rebs. In extreme zoom out view, the color of fields was too close to butternut and looked like Reb units. It was enough to give a fella a heart attack. |

Yes, thanks for the info. I wish that they had included it in the PDT but I suppose that there are reasons why it isn't. I probably should also add that when we say that a unit disappears because it is on an opponent's entry hex when reinforcements are brought on board, they truly just disappear. Th... |

When reinforcements arrive on the map, typically they are allowed a 5 hex leeway, and any opposing unit within that 5 hex range will be routed. If an opposing unit is actually on the hex that the reinforcement arrives on, I assume that the unit still just disappears. How can a player open a scenario... |

That is good news, but what do you do when one opponent wants to upgrade but another opponent does not? Do we create a second game folder by downloading the game from WDS again and thus have a game folder for each of the two updates? |

I think that I remember WDS recommending that the games not be updated in the middle of a game. That is fast becoming untenable with multiple opponents, games lasting 100 turns, and/or opponents having to decrease their playing time. Is it safe to update our games at any time? |

It couldn't have been that tough. The first traffic light was invented in 1868 in London, England. It was installed outside the Houses of Parliament to control the flow of horse-drawn traffic over Westminster Bridge. The traffic light was manually operated by a police constable and combined three se... |

WDS solved the problem of more than two supply wagons in column movement not being able to follow a road at a sharp turn, but in its place (a much lesser evil), every unit follows a supply wagon when using the Alt key. Accordingly, be careful what you run a supply wagon by when using the Alt key. Ev... |

All options on except for MDF, EFOW, and Arty Capture. No house rules. Looking for someone who can do 3-4 turns per week. I will play either side and only requirement is that the opponent be a member of ACWGC (no difference to me if Union or Confederate). I prefer the larger battles. At the moment I... |

Good presentation. Comment 1 - I guess that we no longer have to worry about artillery being in a defensive battle line through a town or woods. I understand the woods but not the town as there are open streets where artillery fire could be directed. Artillery in woods, I've always said that artille... |

My guess would be that you counted scenario 144 while I included 144, 145, 146, and 147. |

For the Battle of Shiloh, what I count in the DoR is 42 Union victories, 43 Reb victories, and 25 draws. It looks to be about as even as you can get, but factually if the Rebs press, the Union runs. You have to keep in mind though that the HPS/WDS series has so many options available that can radica... |
