Ok, I've put up with locking out the maps and the oobs in the latest HPS games. I've gone to playing the game in multiple phases to get around the poor defensive fire rates in the single phase system and the ridiculous stacking limits with no fire modifier for higher unit densities. I've bought all ...

Dierk, I've been wargaming, board, minatures and pc for over thirty years now and never hesitated to tell others that I do. Have had a variety of jobs, worked at everything from managing a restaurant to digging up basements installing waterproofing systems. Been working as an electronic tech for the...

When Rob Love was commanding the AoS he told his three CC's (myself, Gen Breen and Gen Martens) he was going to give each corps 20 OBD a month out of the AoS allotment. We were told to figure out how much to give the DC for their work and what their duties were to be. After kicking it around we came...

The one saving grace of the HPS Campaign games was playing the campaign. Well I'm into my 6th battle in a campaign of Gettysburg and I'm not too happy with the campaign game right now. During the Brandy Station fight my yanks did a pretty good job on the reb cavalry, managed to mangle a couple of hi...

Sounds like you have a bad spot or scratch on the disc, if you haven't tried it wash it off with a mild detergent, rinse and dry with soft cloth wiping straight from the center to the edge. For more info on CD scratches try http://www.tutorials.com/08/0836/0836.asp. Another possibility is try one of...

Mike, You asked for opinions so I gave mine, I don't think you're scum anymore than I consider the rebs who did the same to me scum. I do consider the HPS single phase system worse than playing in phases. The real problem with the HPS single phase system is the poor defensive fire. After having oppo...

I've just called a halt to the Stone's River MP game I've been moderating for the past 18 months or so. The confederate forces have a major victory at the end of two days fighting with one yankee division destroyed on the first day and parts of two more trapped against the river as the sun sets on t...

You would have a hard enough time getting that kind of coordination in a WWII command much less the ACW era. That's why I won't play HPS games in the single phase mode.

Gen McBride, thanks for the drink. Gen Nelms, have a seat and join us for a round.

Settle down Hoss, Gen McBride didn't mean that comment about Mrs.Lincoln, after all he's been drinking a mite and he did apologize.

The grizzled general enters the tavenr and sits down wearily at his usual table looking even more disheveled than normal. His uniform muddy, with some reddish brown stains that look like blood. As a young lieutenant comes up to his table looking worried the general smiles at him and says, “ Don’...

Took a quick look at the files I have, Sharpsburg by T Hicks doesn't have Pendleton in the oob. Sharpsburg Btn Level by C Hopper does but I only found him on the map 1 time, positioned with Gen Jackson. Perhaps you are using the original OOB and it may point more than one officer to the picture of G...

Gen Ubaldi, From my experiences with Corinth 1.01 I would say no. Once a scenario is created with one oob if you change the order or number of units in the oob you have to recreate the scenario from scratch otherwise you get an error when you try to start it and it normally will not work. At least t...

I recently tried copying the new HPS Gettysburg maps to my Corinth 1.01 folder. I wanted to do a scenario with a custon OOB for my next MP game and since you can't do that in the game I was going to use the old 1.01 version of Corinth that I'm using in my current game since you can import maps and o...
