Good question. I think the original idea of the Cadet was to ensure they knew what games were played, how to PBEM, and understand the rudementaries of the club then assigned to a Unit. The process now is a lot longer with a game being played and ensuring that a basic tactics knowledge is there. Teac...

Looking for opponents for a 2 - 2 multi player game. Good availability and turn around is a must. Scenario chosen is W- 43 which provides a lot of troops with a lot of decision making as to strategy. The action is along the Hagerstown/Sharpsburg area. Once the Union army is released it will provide ...

Good Idea Bill.

If you have the email addresses available please post them and I can create a post with them, set is an announcement and it would appear at all the forums. Is this an acceptable solution?

I will have to have a look at this movie. I am sure I have seen it at least once many years ago. Came out the year I was born.

If I remember correctly, there was some dissatisfaction with the ACWGC board options that were available to the moderators back when the ACWGC Forums software was updated and thus the Union Army Forums were moved elsewhere. I am sure that was the reason given. Wait a minute the union forums use the...

Hi Pat, That's very funny Pat because I proposed tot he Cabinet that more people be brought in to debate things to get a broader perspective and then the Cabinet could vote. I even suggested that a post, with what we are discussing, be posted for membership consumption and response. I proposed that ...

It appears that the membership does not always think that a vote is necessary. Currently the membership vote is part of the process for all club changes. The question is should the Cabinet only request a membership vote on issues that the Cabinet deems important enough? Please note that this is a pe...

Thank you for that post. Your suggestion is good however you are missing the very practical issue that trying to determine what those 'designations' are debating and agreeing to them is a major undertaking. The Cabinet originally voted (after a debate) on and passed the sole use of GiC. However real...

I think that the club has evolved admirably. The building up of the 2 Schools for new member training and indoctrination has helped enormously. There is now a strong culture in getting new members involved. This is all good and kudos to those that participate. I also believe that fewer well run unit...

I read many interesting points.

The Rank/points issue does not seem to be something that needs fixing as per the consensus.

What other ideas and solutions could the Cabinet tackle to improve the club?

I am sure there are great solutions out there we just need to hear them and work them out.

Very good summary. I recently had an MP game where the suggestion was to use all of the optional rules except for manual def fire. I thought it was wrong to do so and said so. Yet it still was implemented. I can only thing that it is because there is a strong lack of knowledge as to what all the rul...

I use 1600 X 1200 on a 24". It has been a year and I would not change it for the world. I also have a 19" 1280 X 1024 and do not use it to play games just to have emails and such open. A friend of mine has a 28 " and I am jealous every time I go over. The large resolutions do provide ...
