Well, Gary, if you're meaning our game at Pea Ridge where arty ammo would have helped you, that's ENTIRELY historical. Van Dorn managed to put the entire Union army between himself and his supply train in that battle. The Rebs withdrew early in Day 2 because they had no cannonballs left. Major Gener... |

It really depends on what you are trying to do. If you are firing the entire stack at a single target, I believe there is no difference at all. If I understand the system correctly, it resolves each attack individually, and then adds together the total results. (Even if it aggregates the fire value,... |

But, even stand alone battle scenarios have to look "beyond" the battle for their Victory Conditions. Again, to take the example of Vicksburg, until the Union Army reestablished itself on the Yazoo River after Grant's March, they could not afford to have their ammo supplies captured, or else they we... |

I'll agree that a one for one ratio is excessive, but it's not all THAT excessive, especially for the Union side in everything before they besieged Vicksburg, or the CSA side within Vicksburg. In both of those cases, supplies were at a premium because of the difficulty of resupply, and the VP can we... |

The scary thing would be if the database for the NWC, ACWGC and CCC were still consolidated. Then you'd see some truly remarkable post counts [8D]

Of course, the morale ratings in Franklin are somewhat skewed (for play balance purposes I suppose). The Rebs were not THAT good, and the Union certainly weren't that bad. |

No doubt it must be allowed, the more offensive the speech, the more important it is to allow it. That said, there should have been counter-protesters there in the Uniform of the 20th Maine to make a point of what Gettysburg really means. Actually, a little birdie told me that they are redoing the engine for the next game... it will be kind of a prequel... not a FPS, but a FPT... a first person thrasher. Your job will be to lurk though the halls of the Senate and beat down Senators with a walking stick. Of course, this will be more f... |

I've mucked around with Crown of Glory, and up to this point, haven't been immensely impressed with it. One thing that I am curious about, is that CoG was designed to reflect Europe in the Napoleonic era, and so you have multiple nation states, while here, you just have the two. It would cause you to... |

Rich, In this book, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1400062624/sr=8-1/qid=1155521451/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-9153699-5980954?ie=UTF8 , the author argues that the conception was already there that it was an unalterable union, and that was clearly stated in some of the debates. I'd have to look up the exact... |

As I said, counting true army commanders, I'd still put Van Dorn as the worst. His performances at both Pea Ridge and Corinth were abysmal. (Yes, those were army commands, though not to the size of the AoT or ANV). I'd put Pemberton as second worst, and then I might put Bragg in at 3rd worst. (Thoug... |

Certainly not the worst, but far from the best. (I'd give Earl Van Dorn the title for "worst"... though there are a few others fair candidates). Misused? Perhaps, though the simple fact is that with his personality issues, it was likely impossible to put him in any role where he wouldn't start const... |
