Need some northern fodder for an HPS Gettysburg campaign. Can either start with or just after Brandy Station at your preference. Prefer all options and single-phase turns. I've only played the Brandy Station 1st campaign scenario, so preference given to any fellow G-burg "newbies" out there. We are ... |

Patrick - I was "taught" it (the hard way! [xx(]) in a new player tournament in the NWC, which I recently joined. I then immediately checked it out in an HPS ACW game (Franklin) and it was the same. I will say, to back up Al's point, that I'm playing General Mullins in an HPS G-burg battle. Intentio... |

Are you mad? [8] Do you feel the craziness content in your blood getting low?? Well then... ...I'm currently playing Big Bethel in the HACW games, and it's my first experience with company-sized units. I have to admit I like it! So... ...anyone up for a company-level Gettysburg design??? [:p] But se... |

Bill, In at least one incarnation of Berg's ACW regimental games, a unit could change facing one hexside (after passing a morale check, I think?) if it was not otherwise in an enemy ZOC when an enemy unit marched adjacent to it. While this may or may not be possible in the current engine, is it poss... |

Al: I'm all for no ZOCs. I grew to like that in my early days with the La Bataille games where you just got shot at as you walked by. Mike: sounds like another argument for leader "personality" ratings and strict command control rules. And then an orders system. And then... [:I] Maj Gen Sean Turner ... |

I've recently discovered that soft ZOC's remain "hard" to the front for retreat purposes (as in, a unit losing a melee still cannot retreat to its front if that lies in an enemy ZOC). I'm sure most of you already knew this, but my ignorance is always looking for new heights! [:p] Is this something t... |

The "Plot-n-Go" system has great possibilities, IMO.
In the interim, what about assigning OOC units half movement and make them unable to melee? Possible with the exisiting engine?

Now Mark, we all know a Reb can whip 10 yankees, but without bullets we can only whip 9.75! [:D] Bill, the 1st scenario is the "historical" scenario with units arriving on the map as reinforcements. If I & XI Corps wagons should also be late, at least both sides can only attack via melee. And I agre... |
