I agree, small arms ammo is way to low in both systems. Running out of small arms ammo should be a localized event forcing the unit to fall back or wait for wagons to catch up. I don't remember any battle being affected by completely running out of ammo for the whole army. It is particularly bad in ...

Yankees need a lot more training otherwise they don't know their left foot from the right and tend to march in circles[:D]. Be sure and get a password to Southern Raiders forum where we discuss the finer points of kicking Yankee butts and take a look at the CSA War College at http://wc.kwhitehead.co...

If I am following the affects of using the l2.5 unit of loss correctly, I would expect two side affects. One an increase in rate of fatigue of units and two an increase of ammo consumption. Have you addressed these in any way? Such as, increasing fatigue recovery rates? This could have some interest...

Battleground games step down at each range that it changes. If a gun table is 5/4 then 10/3, the gun will fire at 4 for hex ranges 5-9 then step down at 10 hex range. I believe (I say this because I checked it on Corinth a long time back and may be remembering wrong) that HPS engine interpolates. Fo...

Actually the differences between artillery in Corinth and Gettysburg are very slight. I checked only two type of guns the N (Napoleon) and T (Parrot) but they are the predominant types. The main difference is on Version 103 of Corinth that lowered the N's close range factors. Here are the main chang...

I have added a section to my "War College" site for Campaign Gettysburg (this is open to all section) with down loads for the versions of the graphics I personally like and have tested. I also have links to the sites I have found providing graphics for CG. If any one knows of more let me know and I ...

For those that hate it[:(!], it came in version 1.02 along with the much loved[xx(] locking of OOB and MAP files: -------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for Campaign Corinth 1.02 - Added feature that routing units will disrupt units in hexes that the routing uni...

I don't think having Lee's subordinates would have helped him. He had Longstreet and Longstreet was a ring leader in the group trying to remove him. All of which lead to one his more stupid decissions. When Longstreet came up with the half baked plan to take Knoxville and then return to Chattanooga ...

Unforunately, my adapter is a bit older, GeForce3 Ti200. Right now I am running version 66.93 of Nvidia drivers. This one was selected by trial and error to work with WoW Online. Since it takes a couple of days of trials to verify a new driver I haven't just jumped in there to see what might work[:D...

Unfortunately, it is probably a combination problem with my old 64MB video board, DX9 and Nvidia Drivers. When I say flicker I mean the whole screen turns white of a few seconds then the display returns for maybe a second then repeats until you have a headache[xx(]. And that is the low setting. I wi...

I got the game and was hoping to be able to comment on it. Unfortunately[:(], they really mean those minimum specs. When they say it requires a video card with 128MB you better have one if you don't want to watch flicker and crashes[xx(]. Be sure to check their site for the minimum computer requirem...

The designers (HPS's) comment was it was to simulate the tendancy of men to surrender rather than fight to the last man in hopeless situations. In BG games it is rather severe, automatic loss. For that matter just being surrounded by zones in BG games would result in loss of all troops if they lost ...

LC. Peters The problem I found with trying to play multiplayer with the phase system wasn't just the extra mailings. Because the game isn't set up for a replay of a phase one player is always blind to what actually happen in a phase since only one player can execute the end of the phase. In a small ...

The single phase system in HPS is pretty much useless except when needed for multiplayer games. The move/fight system is more appropriate to modern war games than Civil War. But if you forget that option exsists, then the HPS system fixes a number of problems and errors in the Battleground system. N...

As Patton said "make the other poor sob die for his country"[:D] but on a more useful note, it depends[:(]. Every situation requires different tactics but rule of thumb is don't use cavalry for infantry. Use infantry. Cavalry is best for scouting and delaying an approaching column. Generally keep yo...
