Ernie's tip of Googling ANY error message is a good one. You'll almost always find help by doing that.

Hey Rich, you might want to tweak your list since the Blitz changed the Panzer Campaigns ladder to the Operational Campaigns ladder. I'm also on that ladder since it gave me flexibility to play modern campaigns games when the PZC club did not. PZC Club includes Squad Battles, so you get three series... |

Sorry to hear that Sean. You need to stay away from those labyrinths, they'll get you everytime. [;)] Got a touch of the flu myself (not the bird kind). See you in the Ozarks when you're better! Lt. General Dirk Gross XIV Corps/AoC http://home.columbus.rr.com/odotffl/images/14corps.gif |

Thanks for that. It's tough to utlize reserves effectively when the front line routed units run screaming into the second line stacks (even when large gaps have been left for just such a purpose). Lt. General Dirk Gross XIV Corps/AoC http://home.columbus.rr.com/odotffl/images/14corps.gif |

I've felt that artillery defeated in melee should take casualties but not be automatically eliminated. Instead it should be retreated in a limbered disrupted state to represent hitching up and going while under rifle fire instead of manning the guns to the bitter end. A strong enough melee can resul... |

I had to open a Yahoo account recently because my opponent seemed to get blocked from my regular accounts, including my hotmail one. It worked fine.

I thought I found a pretty cool volume of books tonight. I was at a bookstore that specializes in publisher's overstock and used books where I came across volumes called "The War of Rebellion" by the National Historical Society. They had volumes 8, 10, 30, and a couple others as well as another set ... |

Well, I found out that encrypt means pbem encryption and the 0 or 1 means off/on. Still not sure what the rules=132 means in my bgn.ini file. Anyway, you can test whether your game is seeing the corresponding .ini file by changing the options in the game, closing it, and see if the option changed in... |

You can play be email from the game's exe. When it starts, select the module you want to play. The game will start and it will open a dialog box asking for a scenario. Click cancel. Then click Special on the top button bar and check Play by Email. Then you can click File, Open and select the game fi... |

Ernie, I did test copying BG Bull Run to my laptop and it ran perfectly by executing the bg_start.exe on the HD directory. Even played video, music, and sound effects too. I was surprised it worked without an ini but it did. I couldn't run the 16-bit patch though unless it was executed in the game d... |

Having run all the BG games in nearly every version of Windows from 95 to XP Pro SP2, and on multiple computers from desktops to laptops, AMD and Intel, ATI and Nvidia, I've never had an issue with it runing properly. And, I've never had to resort to compatibility settings either. It's most likely t... |

Rather than detail the issues with reinstalling XP here, I Googled this site: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm which looks like good information. It points to MS too: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315341 Look up as much info as you need on the web and d... |

If the install continues to fail, try this: Copy the game directory from the CD to Program Files. For example, the game directory is BGR on the BG Bull Run CD. If you want to group them, create a Talonsoft directory under Program Files and copy all the game directories there. At this point, create a... |
