Anyone up for an MP battle?

I think the observation that there was little consistency in naming is right on. A regiment was (as noted above) supposedly comprised of 2-3 battalions of (ideally) 500 men apiece. Generally, for example, the 15th whatever Regiment of Volunteer Infantry would muster 10-15 companies (100-150 men apie...

I'm still holding out hope for a good MOD for Napoleon or Empire Total War, as it offers (IMO) the best balance of strategic and tactical level action, plus pretty pretty graphics!

General Strickler,

It was great fun, suh! My boys have been itchin' to get back to raiding the Yanks for sometime now, and with the added bonus of our target being a Yankee watering hole...well, it's really a two-fer!

Blake, Having gone to school in Gettysburg, I'm no stranger to this phenomenon. My fraternity house (Sigma Nu, founded at VMI by Confederate veterans) is located on West Broadway and Washington Street, right at the edge of the field. Just behind the house are college owned playing fields, but just b...

Gents, Thought I already reported in, but can't seem to find my post. You'll forgive me if I end up double posting, I hope. II Corps, HQ staff is currently engaged on several fronts: 1. Gator Ambush MP Game at Gettysburg closes in on it's finish, it's a close one. Right down to the wire. 2. Western ...

Blake, I also think it odd that we invented the Holiday of May Day and yet don't celebrate it (don't want those workers asking too many questions now, do we?). On some calenders I've seen recently, September 11th is called "Patriot Day", so apparently they're naming that a national day of ...

Gents, I happen to agree with Drex here. Foreign intervention on pretty much any level would have been ruinous to the Union cause. Had Lee somehow defeated MacClellan convincingly, anywhere north of the Potomac, foreign intervention would have occurred on some level. Remember, Lee had just gone from...

Blake, It's amazing that someone would be so bent on destroying something, that they could actually break a stone statue... Oh, for an expanded Department of the Interior budget...hire some more officers, replace the damaged monuments, protect our nation's history. Why don't politicians care about t...
