After getting my clock cleaned by Klaus (Lt. Col. Klaus Kuhlmann) in the 2 day scenario, and Todd (Capt. Todd Pollard) seems to be gaining the upperhand in the one day scenario, I have begun to research the battle in greater detail. Wikipedia has a decent article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_... |

If, I as I expect would have happened, Lee wins early, the Emanciapation Proclamation would have never happened. That changes a big portion of our history

General <salute>
Thanks for the information. I do own AGEOD's American Civil War and have played with it a bit, but so far, it has seen cumbersome. Is the a lot of difference between the two games mentioned?

Check out the trailer at website above. General Grant makes a Major General appearance and Lincoln looks fantastic!

AS for Gods and Generals, I would have renamed it Stonewall and the little girl. They just ignored the Peninsula Campaign which the book did fairly well. As great as Gettysburg the movie was, the prequel was very disappointing. As for movies with General Grant in them, a great resource is the movie ... |

If you are in a long scenario and you have been thumped and have little chance to recover (Army is in rout and enemy is triumphant)what is the generally accepted behavior. Should you gut it out to the bitter end or resign and start another game. Lt. Elkin 1/3/8/AOS It's just like shooting squirrels,... |

Is this a game worth buying? I haven't seen a whole lot of advertising for opponents. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks in advance to all who respond

In playing a game with Dr. Kuhlman, I have noticed a couple of strange things with arty captured. 1. I (playing Union) cannot recrew captured artillery. I can spike 2. When Klaus (playing Confederate) captures my guns, they can immediately return fire on me in our next PBM turn. That seems incorrect... |

Regarding the Newt Gingrich and William R. Forstchen trilogy, it is outstanding! If you haven't read them, pick up used copies at Amazon. At least try Gettysburg. Though it is alternate history, I think they captured the main characters as well as anybody major historian has. Another excellent alter... |

The man who made the Union Artillery Work If you haven't read the 3 volume alternate history of the Civil War by Newt Gingrich and William Forstchen, you are missing a treat. Harry is featured in the group of books. Here is what Wikipedia has to say about him. Artillery doctrine Hunt's professional ... |

Gen Walter <salute> I have read the 3 volume edition of Lee and the Longstreet book. The Lee book is brillant, and Longstreet's book is also good, but somewhat self serving. However, since I really like James, I enjoyed it. If I had to read just one Civil War Book, I believe it would be "Killer Ange... |
