I just completed a check for the games done by the AotP from 1st January 2018 to 31st March 2020. Of 192 ended games 11 use a wrong game type: - 7 battles that are maneuvers(unsure about 2 as they were registered when officer were still on different sides) - 1 maneuver that is a battle - 1 maneuver ...

Although one can see the muster process as a pure check for active/inactive members and by that regard is as rather less important, one has to look at the complete process so that he realizes that it's as much about the one who conducts the muster as it is about the one who replies to it if not more...

The alternative, in my view, is to conduct a muster and hold members' feet to the fire, so to speak. I've heard that the USA side is good about maintaining order, but that the CSA side is, shall we say, 'more lax'. If the problem really is only (or mainly) on the CSA side, then it behooves those of...

Because having different sides and competing against each other is a main pillar of the club. And here at the ACWGC we have even less means to differ as we only give OBD points per game done, not like at the NWC were VPs can be given. So in that aspect I don't even mind getting just half the points ...

If there is really one who sees a reply to a muster call as burden, then one has to wonder what contribution that person could give to the PBEM club. If answering a mail a month is too much, what does he do in a game with daily turn exchanges? This club just doesn't run alone and it's just a proper ...

Wait wait, all started because: ... there is no check in the system to make sure that maneuvers are not registered as battles. Since no one seems to really care, why don't we do away with maneuvers? There has yet to be shown any prove that we have a problem of such seriousness that steps beyond what...

@General Meyer As much as I would like to contribute to training new members, current duties at the NWC have me pretty much occupied, the tiny rest I can spare is going into my optional rule guide that I plan to up date & extend to cover playing phases with ADF and turn gameplay. That hopefully ...

As pointed out, what is in place seems to look good on paper but from my experience I can only say that I was never directed nor contacted or in any other way involved in doing advanced training of a newly assigned officer, not as DC & not as CC. But I doubt that the academy training was so good...

I do not mind if the mandatory training game puts its Schwerpunkt not on the battlefield but tries to make the new member familiar with how things work in this club. But in the end trainer & cadet play a game and I see no reasons, except the current way things are organized, that this can't cont...

Yes but even minimum can be troublesome if your artillery pounds on a unit in very good cover and isn't doing any damage.

The problem I see here that this is confined to the Army instead of utilizing the whole trainer pool. Sure if someone volunteers to get a maneuver done with the newly assigned member its fine, but I think a trainer could do better in solving the problems an inexperienced member still has on the batt...

General Hecht, ADF is not required to be ON when playing in Turn Mode, in that mode it is a default rule. When playing a PBEM game in Phases however ADF ON has the AI run the Defensive Fire Phase, this is the same option that was used in the old BG games. It allows playing the game in Phases withou...
