I'm in the "more ammo" school. One of my favorite games in the Talonsoft series is "Antietam" and that game is completely ruined by the fact that the Rebels DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH AMMO! That game almost has a lock on it as the Union can just fire all day and the Rebels HAVE to conserve their fire or jus...

I am referring to the number of men in one of my units when they are hit. For example I may have a unit with only "9 men" left. The enemy fire phase comes on and the map may say "4" men hit and then the unit vanishes. What happened to the other "5" men then? I know with Fog of War on you can't tell ...

Echoing all of the comments above. "Vicksburg" as the Confederates is very dull fare indeed. Very unbalanced scenarios. Battles like "Raymond" where you have a brigade against a Corps!!!

Overall a bad choice for a disk in my opinion using the HPS system.

I have noticed during fire phases that the 'hit messages' on the map may say "3 men hit" or perhaps "6 men hit" and then the unit vanishes. But in some instances I have known in advance that the unit has more men than the "hit indicators" announce. Are the 'step losses' actually "10" men? How do we ...

I have done that Ernie. In fact I have been experimenting with this the whole day. Installed - de-installed numerous programs. Got rid of my virus program and got another one, ran Spybot everything. The only pattern I see is no zip files can be sent. My .cpf files are OK and .bte but not zip. Crazy....

Hello All, and apologies to my opponents. For some strange reason I can no longer send or receive Zip files. I have taken the following steps to help locate what the problem could be. Disabled all virus software Disabled all setting for virus check in Thunderbird Mail - I tried sending myself a simp...

I realize that Gil R's post and some of his comments are directed at me. One of the reasons I replied to Mike, who started the topic, was because I had purchased the game, and of course a lot of us in this club want to have an idea of what this new game is all about. I had put in comments on the Mat...

My favourite strategic American Civil War game of all time was Victory Games "Civil War". Even when Avalon Hill released a primitive version of the game for the IBM PC I played it for hours - buggy as it was. Golly, I still remember the EGA graphics that were so bad they actually gave you a miniatur...

Now that I have had it for over a week now I am really beginning to see it's faults. For one thing, the geography even for an area movement game is just terrible. The all important "Richmond" point is not even named, instead it is called "James River" and yet "Petersburg" IS named in a prominent pos...

I purchased the digital download of the game and if I had known what I now know I would not have purchased it. In fact I'm thinking of selling my copy 'digital download' not withstanding. I don't like the 'area' movement for a Civil War game. The game is extremely detailed but in areas that I don't ...

My opponent and I are engaged in a Vicksburg Campaign and presently we are fighting the "Battle of Port Gibson". He has just captured the Confederate supply wagon which had 400 supplies on board. We noticed that this immediately garnered 400 points for Union. Is this in all of the HPS games? Or only...

I have downloaded General Mullins Graphics and they look very fine. However, I'm still getting units that 'switch loyalties' in the Gettysburg Campaign. That is some Reb units show up with Union flags and vice versa. Same for Vicksburg Campaign. Anyone else encountering this? I had to go back to the...

I have played the Shiloh Campaign Disk through once, and am currently involved in another email game presently. I have also heard from club members that the same anomaly came up in their games. If this is so isn't this a rather serious flaw? At least to the point of making the final battle of Shiloh...

I was playing a "Battle of Salem Church" with him for several months and his moves got slower and slower. I finally emailed him to end the match. His personal life is getting a little full of late so I decided on a 'draw' for the match. When he is active he usually replies very promptly. G. Collins ...
