Agree with Antietam over Gettysburg and Chickamauga over Shenandoah. But it does depend on what battles you enjoy playing. The old Talonsoft games don't work with Windows 11 as far as I know. There might be a workaround but with so many other titles it's easier to just retire those. The Matrix versi... |

Gen Strickler, I've downloaded the files from the site, but was under the impression when registering that an opponent would be picked for me on 3/1. How does that work? Should I advertise in the finder for an opponent? An email may have been sent, but I did find out from an opponent that they had ... |

It's always enjoyable to find little known Civil War monuments or markers in the most random of places.
The same with battles fought by former generals after the war. Whether it is Custer at Bighorn, Loring in Egypt, or Wheeler in Cuba, all would make for interesting destinations to visit. |

That might become the most popular phrase I've heard in the club so far in 2024 |

Yeah, Stephen Lang now represents both Pickett and Jackson in my brain. Lloyd Bridges is Jefferson Davis (North and South TV series) Raymond Massey is Abe Lincoln (Abe Lincoln in Illinois and How the West Was Won) Yes, I know Daniel Day Lewis played Lincoln more recently, but he is already engrained... |

I have a couple questions regarding these games. 1) Will we be receiving the file at the start of the game or at the beginning of our first turn? At the start of the game we'd be able to open the file and see all beginning troop dispositions and reinforcement schedules while receiving it at our fir... |

My wife and I are currently in North Carolina (we move around quite a bit). She asked if Georgia bordered North Carolina. "Yes," I said. "To the southwest." She then said, "then what's south of North Carolina?" There's no safe answer to that question without ge... |

I was randomly looking at a picture of Lee's death mask and the first thought that came to mind was, "That doesn't look all that much like Martin Sheen."
Thank you, Gettysburg, for forever etching Martin Sheen as Robert E. Lee in my brain |

I have no objections, nor does anyone else "in charge" on the Cabinet, to players using whatever rules they can get someone to agree to in a private game. That is the business of the player's involved. But in Club Tournaments, the rules are what they are. If you don't like them, don't pla... |

I know the author had to draw the line somewhere or it would stop being a "quick" read coffee table book. The one I don't get is John Hunt Morgan. He's simply not in the same category as the others as far as name recognition, importance, and command responsibilities. |

Never follow the script if you can help it. Though, ironically, every once in a while the enemy won't expect you to follow the script, in which case follow the script |

Gentlemen, I am happy to announce the promotion of Col. Ashdoll Ren to Brigadier General. Ash has been an excellent officer in the gray since he joined our Cause. My congratulations to him! https://static.wixstatic.com/media/7b5c37_f2ece246937f437ea1a70e4782f79a8f~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_1076,h_651,al_c,... |
