The optional artillery rules, although well-meaning, confuse me enough that my preference is to play with those options off.

Just finished reading Fields of Blood by William Shea about the Prairie Grove campaign. He also had a good work about Pea Ridge a few years back. Yes, the Matrix editions are compatible with the old TS versions. There are a couple of patches at the Matrix site. No changes in the game at all.

Foote's trilogy helped spark my interest in the Civil War. Although not perfect it is a fine read that I have undertaken three times over the years. Enjoy.
