Rich,
I too only fire by stacks, but the problem comes in the Union offensive fire, when the two 400 man unionm units fire on a 600 man Reb stack, and a 125 reb unit is the only one that returns fire. Add this up over a whole battlefield and 2 hours and the yanks have a huge advantage...

I own it, and I think it is the best strategic game I have played! I am in my second PBEM game (through the Matrix boards) and it is great!

I am lucky that in Nik Butler, Gary McClellan, and Paul Ayers, I have opponents who rarely melee ( I rarely do and only play for surrounds if I am rolling up a flank or stopping a penetration attack or random oportunities- I too have toned down on this).

I can post a review later. In the game I am playting as the yanks, I got to Richmond is 18 months and, after a siege, took it. I had to beat LEe twice to get there. I just took Fort Donaldson and am sieging Island #10 and have nothing in the deep south or the coast. I hold NAshville. In my game as t...

Funny, I am playing this game as I type. I think it is one of the best games I have ever played. For point of reference, my other "best games" are the HPS Nappy and ACW games, Airborne Assault/Conquest of the Aegean, and MAd Minute 2nd Bull Run. Pros: -wego -strategic/operational level, no fighting ...

I have both the ageod game and FOF and for me it is ageod hands down. The biggest thing for me is area movement. Both games are area movement games but the ageod game has at least 4 times as many areas. So, in ageod there are multiple avenues of attack to Richmond, nashville, memphis, atlanta, etc, ...

Sir,
It would be a pleasure to accept this challenge. We have not crossed swords mono-a-mono is some time.

Just got the game this evening.

I am guessing they will have it up on their web site about the time I get home from work, which will be slightly before the wife does ;)

I am looking forward to this one. Who is the designer?
