Gentlemen <salute>

Hiding behind Mrs. Lincoln's bed skirts? Besides not being an attractive woman, what would dear old Abe think of it!

Tim, give 'em hell!

General Strickler, although Abe's wife is a northern girl and does not have the same sensibilities as a southern lady, you are sailing close to the wind by offering her the favorite southern elixir :mrgreen:

Sir,

Mrs. Lincoln is a Kentuckian, sir! She is a Rebel at heart! Just yesturday she passed along valuable information about the whereabouts of the Army of the Potomac. Apparently they are picnicking, again, near the Susquehanna River.

General Strickler <salute>

Was Colonel Olinsky behind her skirt, by chance?

Brig. General Reneau,

Wow... this conversation has surely gotten a bit out of hand! :shock:

From hiding behind Mrs. Lincoln's bed skirts to wearing a skirt! My oh my... you ALL must have drunk a whole lot of "Oh Be Joyful" tonight! I... on the other hand am sleeping out on the cold hard ground with Minnie Balls and Cannon Balls zinging overhead. I was there beside my men the better part of two hours trying to cut a road through the woods so that I could rescue 3 artillery batteries and our supply wagon after General Reneau so gracelessly drove them off the road before we could even get within fighting distance.

I think it is "HE" who is trying to avoid the fight... for he's done everything he could to keep our two armies from meeting. From hit and run tactics by his cavalry... to falling hundreds of trees across the road... to causing landslides over the road to prevent our use of them. I was approached by the townsfolk of Emmitsburg and they are not at all happy with all the damage General Reneau has caused to the region. They will have his head if I can catch up to him and bring him to justice!

A pleasant evening to you all... <salute>

Suh, catching General Reneau shouldn't be that hard. Stop your retreat, about face, and wait for him :mrgreen:

Major General Hebert,

Why Sir... it's not a retreat at all. I have never been involved in one of those... what do they look like? I presume as Rebs... you've all had a great amount of experience with them? :)

Suh, my compliments! They are what you Yanks might call "retrograde movements". We have no problems with a move to the rear when the situation calls for it, however your habit of retreating whenever contact is made leads us to wonder if there's any fight in you :mrgreen:

Suh, Gator Alley's compliments! Nicodemus is always hungry, and Greg Olinsky's division is his next feast :mrgreen:

Major General Hebert,

Why Sir... that is where you Rebs are a bit confused. You seem to think it's always time to fight... remember what the Good Book says...

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is time for every event under heaven--

A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.
A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
A time to be silent and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate;
A time for war and a time for peace.

I have a bit of a problem with that silent part! But there is no problem when it comes to uprooting, killing, tearing down, throwing stones at and tearing apart Rebs! And I don't hate you... you all just don't know what time it is! :wink:

Greg,

I never would have suspected you were a Byrd's fan. You must be spending too much time with Mrs. Lincoln.
