Yes Gents as you all know General Newton has stepped down as the Army Commander of the Army of Northern West Virginia. Now out west this type of occasion is one to be celebrated by the liberal misuse alcohol. General Weir said he was more than happy to pay the bill, so let’s hit it hard – Gents I give you 20 toasts to General John Newton – hurrah x 20
(I have not actually spoken to General Weir about using his tab yet, but I think it will be ok?)

Why General McOmish, how could I ever refuse your using my bar tab as in years past I have always so generously used yours. :P

Drink up boys...but remember reveille is at 0500 and I want to see everyone spit shined and polished for General Newton's review parade on the marrow.

Sirs, we must all do honor to the General, and our duty to the Cause, by converting as much beer into salt petre as is humanly possible; so Gentlemen, if you will -

A chorus for the empty chair –

John Harrolson! John Harrolson!
Could you not invent a meter,
Or some less immodest mode
Of making our salt-petre?
The thing, it is so queer, you know-
Gunpowder, like the crankey-
That when a lady lifts her shift
She shoots a bloody Yankee.

Yee-haw, yarl!!!

Unlike General McOmish I attended the formal parade BEFORE coming to this party! You should see him over there trying to march in a straight line  Rumor has it he puked on the shoes of the Governor

Okay Barkeep! Set me up and keep them coming!

Gentlemen of the Foul Rebel Horde,

It was with great sadness that I discovered the resignation of my old enemy, General Newton. Sad becaues I had planned on whipping him and the rest of you pack of cowardly knaves in the upcoming Flags of Glory II tournament. I understand that the very thought of facing the proud and glorious Army of the Potomac must fill you Rebs with absolute terror but I am afraid that is the price you must pay for raising the ugly flag of Rebellion upon our Nation.

As for your 'clump of trees'-I have them for you-and we've filled them with cannon and General Hancock's boys. Come and take them.
