There are two miniature table top gaming activities in the upcoming weeks with an ACW theme that those nearby Central Pennsyslvania might find of interest. You can either play or just visit and see what is going on.

In both cases the best source for more info is the Historical Miniature Gaming Society web site at http://www.hmgs.org/

September 30- October 2 -- ACW in Miniatures - Chapter 2 Antietam -- Carlisle, PA. A big (ie 100+ player) game of Antietam using over 4,000 25 mm figures on a terrained table top, plus other activities. At the HMGS web site there is a info on the right side bar -- including a report with pictures of the previous Chapter 1 activity - Battle of Gettysburg.

I'm going to include a more detail description in a reply to this - so scroll down if you want to look at it.

November 11-13 --- HMGS "Fall In" Convention -- Gettysburg, PA. The theme for this convention is ACW: Sunset of the Confederacy. Which means there will be more ACW games then usual. But there will be 100's of games covering all historical period with various sized miniatures (6mm to 54 mm -- 10 to 25 are the most common) on terrained tabletops - plus vendors and flea markets.

Attendance will invlove a small fee -- frequently they will extend a free guest pass to spouses or small children. I have since been informally told this is the case for both, but if it is important to you, do check with the contact for the event.
