I've looked all over. I've used "search" to no avail. Where do I find the download that beefs up the roads and trails of the game maps, making them easier to see? I'm especially wondering if the downloads include some for the Battleground disk maps . . . I hope.

Sincerely,

Bill Peters designed them and I think that they only work with HPS. You download/unzip them into your MAP folder in each game. You can find them in the Link Express or by doing a search on 2D in this forum to include archived files will also find the threads that discuss them. He changed the location of the files so keep trying if the first URL that you come up with doesn't work (or just go to the Link Express and get them).

I tried the Link Express address for Bill Peter's 2d Road Artwork" before posting this thread. The link doesn't 'follow through' satisfactorily. The zipped files don't show different HPS games, etc. How does the location work?

You download the zip file, then unzip it into the Map folder of each of your HPS games. It will replace a couple of files in each game.

His post in the forum says that there are instructions within the zip file but I haven't noticed any (can't say that I've devoted any time to looking for any either). The link (whether from the Link Express or the forum) is to a zip file with no up front instructions. I'm hoping that the host site (acwgc.org) puts some instructions with it because as time goes on (maybe even tomorrow), I won't remember what the post said either.

You write "his post in the forum" . . . Where would I find that post? "Search" isn't giving me anything. What did you enter into the 'search' field?

Dwight
You can find the downloads in the Mason Dixon archives posted on Sep 19th 2008.As a previous post mentions save them in the map folder of each HPS title.
Hope this helps

Dwight,

If you wish to keep the original files, rename them something like - Original 2D Pikes-Roads-Trails 100 - prior to downloading.

The instructions are straight forward:

1. These files work for ALL HPS games.

2. Place the ZIP file in YOUR GAME/MAPS folder.

3. Rename the ORIGINAL 2dtrails100.bmp,2droads100.bmp and 2dpikes100.bmp to 2dtrails100_OLD.bmp,2droads100_old.bmp and 2dpikes100_oold.bmp.

4. UNZIP the file into the MAP folder.

5. Enjoy the work of Bill Peters. It makes moving along in Chickamauga, Peninsula, etc much easier.
