Guys,

We all know that the A/I sucks.

How many of you have tried to play against the A/I using Command control?

How many of you use the advantage bar?

How many have used both at the same time?

Rich,
I always use the slider pretty drastically.....The AI is bad enought that if you move it just over half way over I can easily still whip it....But I warn you, slide it ALL the way over and you will never win....The AI shoots really well and they seem to be wearing bulletproff vests....maybe they have protective forcefields???? Or my guys got drunk and can't shoot....eeeeerrrrr, maybe all of the above.....Regards, Hank

Hi, Rich,

Long ago I tried the command control in the BG games, but I have never tried the balance bar. I was disappointed in the command control because the AI still sucked. It was much more satisfying playing chessmaster 5000 against the computer because it behaved much more logically. For awhile, I enjoyed Panzer General because it balanced the mediocre AI with simple mechanics, extra point dumps and time constraints, so that there was at least the illusion of a competent AI. Now I only find satisfaction playing other humans of reasonable intelligence. I realize that designing a competent AI for something as complicated as the HPS games is probably not practical at this time. Hopefully some day it will be.
