Gents,

I ran across this site a few weeks ago after an obscure reference in North and South magazine. It is a one hour weekly talk show where contemporary authors are interviewed about their work on the Civil War. There is also an archive of programs going back to 2004, many which can be downloaded for MP3s, but all can be played on a Windows Media Player. Great stuff if you are interested in history. The web address is

http://www.worldtalkradio.com/show.asp?sid=150

Enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll open it up right now. I am fortunate to be able to listen to music, etc. while at work (most of the time anyway) and this will be a nice change from music - I can learn something at the same time, perhaps. [:D]

Thanks Ron. I checked it out and it is great. Will try to tune to the actual show, but in the meantime the archived programs are easily retrieved and work well...very nice...thanks again for calling attention to it.

Col. Virts,

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought you were making a funny. (I was reminded of "Antebellum Radio", the whimsicle title of Billie Joe Sawyer's CD of music from the Civil War era.)

Thanks for sharing. I'll have to check this out.

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Having listened to a couple of episodes from the archive now, I highly recommend that anyone interested in the way should definitely head over and take a listen. The speakers are highly respected authors, park rangers, retired military officers, etc. This isn't just some Joe Schmoe sitting around talking about what he thinks about the war, this is a professor at a university interviewing those respected authorities about all sorts of war related topics. Well worth a listen.
