Nonsense, this documents a historic event!

If you look carefully at the bottom centre, slightly to the right, you see Larry Quick crawling over to join the Rebs because he mistook a Union flanking column for prisoners. Under the impression that the cause was lost he exchanged uniforms with a CSA corpse and slithered over to the Rebel ranks.

Unfortunately for him by the time he realized his error there were no available Union corpses to revert back to the Union. There was nothing left for him but stand bravely or to rout with the rest of the Rebels and finish the war as a Reb... [;)]

If you look real close in the left hand side of the picture you'll see either General Barlow or General Kaulbars unfolding a white flag, oh and if you look real hard you'll see Miss LuLu giving them a hand, but then you can't miss seeing her [:p]. Such love of Miss LuLu for her Generals Barlow and Kaulbars [:0]

Respectfully,

Well spotted Gery! Indeed we are, and you have uncovered the mystery as to Larry's defection.

You see, we saw Larry drop something as he was running for the bushes and upon investigation we discovered why he had to opt for the use of disguise rather than his usual tactic of immediate and unconditional surrender.

If you use a powerful glass you will see the flag is his patented bed sheet size along with the LQ monogram and distinctive family crest, viz a chicken rampant on dung heap with a royal apple striking it in the head.

This historic trophy has been added to all the others, ie donated to the cholera ward until Larry can reclaim his property.
