Gentlemen,

As you should be aware by now we're working diligently to re-organize the AoG and maintain an accurate muster. In doing this we need your help. General Malcolm Hunt, Corps Commander for the III Corps, has been attempting to reach many of you by e-mail to determine your status. Please help him in this matter by contacting him at your earliest convenience. To those who have already done so, thank you very much. To those who, no doubt, are about to, thank you as well! Your patience and cooperation as we work through the initial kinks of new command is greatly appreciated. In anticipation of your outstanding response drinks are on the house.....after you muster. [^]

Respectfully,

Maj.Gen. Mike Smith

Thanks Scott! [:)]

There does seem to be a few of us still around doesn't there? At the same time we're missing a few as well. Roger Hulinsky, "Dusty" Arnold, the Bramley brothers, just off the top of my head. Anyhoo, is Tony Hill still around? A class act that one and one heck of a warrior to boot! Well, thanks again Scott it's appreciated. [:)]

Hey Mike,
Congrats on the promotion, I'll throw a few new yankee dollars to pay for a drink or three. Oh by the way, on some mornings I'll stop by one of the schools I work at and work on their kitchen equipment and they'll give me some eggs and grits for me troubles and for fixing their ovens. But still can't get them to put some cheese in the grits [:(] only salt, pepper and butter yummmmmmmmmmmm. [:D]May have to throw in a few more dollars since General Ludwig will be there, you know how them people living in the new north "Florida" are like. [:p]

Respectfully,

Roger Hulinsky wow....I wonder whatever happened to him. He was from Nebraska. The Phantom Cavalry Division, Chris Cross was from there too! [:)] Dusty gave great service to the CSA and I think I barely remember the Bramley brothers.

Tony Hill by God is still there. He was an awesome Corps CO. He will never leave, you'll have to take him out sideways in a box, he's an institution in that place! [:)] I still send him messages every now and then.

Rich Hamilton is still in II Corps, the old CO of it. Garry Cope last time I checked was around.

Now the ANV takes charge again! Dave at the helm, you in AoG people all over the places. III Corps invasion.. [:)] That's what I always loved about the ANV the strong volunteerism and can do attitude. No surprise the CSA Secretaries at least one always comes from ANV.

I don't care where I go in the CSA III Corps is my home...and I will return there one day...if not sooner. [:P] It's like in Gettysburg where Kemper says to Fremantle. "My home is in Virginia, and the government of my home is home!" [:)] III Corps had some of the best guys going in it and still does!

Oh and Gery, yeah your just jealous cause us New Yorker's are have better beer than you South Yorker's! [:P]

Hey Gary,

Thanks for the libations!

I can't crank on them north Florida boys as I was born and raised one, lol. Although momma raised me right hehehehe.

There used to be a restaurant on the North side of Jacksonville that had the best seafood around. Their seafood was brought in freshly caught everyday, none of that frozen, pre-packaged junk. To top it off you could go there in the evenings and they'd fix you a big plate of those cheese grits with whatever seafood caught yer fancy, cat head biscuits, and a bottomless glass of sweet tea! Lord, that place was good! Panama's was the name of the restaurant. Unfortunately they went out of business a few years before I left Jacksonville in July of 2000.

Interestingly enough, it was my aunt down in Winter Haven that got me hooked on having cheese in my grits. Mom never made them that way because my Dad just wanted them with butter only, lol. Well we was visiting my aunt Stella and her family one year and I woke on this particular Saturday morning to fresh caught, deep fried mullet fillets, cheese grits, and hush puppies, great day in the morning that was good stuff. I've been addicted since. [:D]

Scott, if I remember right Roger had some personal things to take care of when he stepped away. Sadly, that's the last I've heard of him. he could crack me up though. [:)]

Trevor Bramley was my instructor at VMI and I was assigned to his Black Labrador Cavalry Division right out of VMI. If memory serves me well he was having some serious health issues forcing him to step away from the club. Cool thing is, his old website is still up, unreal huh? Check it out

http://www.geocities.com/trevbramley/

Speaking of our old stomping buddies, Lloyd Cole just came over to the AoG to help us out a bit. He brought over some squeezins' that was somethin' else. It literally put hair on yer backside! Not a pretty sight let me tell you. [:p] Fortunately, we was able to keep Nick from showing us all his new growth of hair. [:D] Talk about a close call, whew![;)]

Wow haha the site is still there. I know a year or two ago I could find Roger's. The Bramley's predate me. [:)]

Mm Lloyd's drinks eh? Hair growth? Hm where's that damned moose! [:P] Oh and I don't need to hear anything about Nick and growin' hair where it shouldn't! [:P] You should have seen his staff meetinsg he had, I still have nightmares! [;)] [:D]
