Does anyone have the music files from Talon Soft's Gettysburg?

I sure would appreciate it if you could e-mail them to me. I am playing Peninsula and I don't like the music and would like to replace it with those old time favorites!!

Thank you in advance!

Talonsofts BG Gettysburg didn't have any music files in the game? My old copy certainly doesn't, I don't know about newer editions or the Matrix copy. It was the first of the games and the only one not to feature music tracks as far as I know. The other four ( Shiloh, Bull Run, Antietam & Chickamauga ) all did though. I don't know if it is possible to add the music feature to Gettysburg.
The HPS games all feature music of a similar style to the earlier games, but I have often wondered if it is possible to add music tracks of a much more martial nature to the games?
I've never seen any mods for the music & sound effects side of the games.

The BEST American Civil War music that I've heard in my opinion, is the soundtrack to the film Glory. I haven't found any of those tracks for download though, so I may have to buy a copy of the cd, if it's even available.

Rich is correct, you can add any WAV file to the music folder in any of the HPS games and it will play. The problem may be that, although there are WAV files already in TS Gettysburg for battle sounds, they are located within the Main folder and as you know, respond to actions carried out in a game. You could create a music folder and place WAV files within it but the game probably won't point to it and just ignore it although I've never attempted this so can't be sure.

BGG doesn't play music. That was added with the second release in the series. (Was it BGS?)

Though I haven't been able to get WAV files to work from non HPS games with the games, I have been able to interchange all of the songs from any HPS game with any game in the that has an established MUSIC FOLDER. Try copying the songs from Corinth, for example, to the Peninsula Music Folder, and they will be added to the list of songs that will be played during game play.

I've added some of the songs from Gods & Generals, Gettysburg, and the Sharpe TV series to my games and not had a problem.

That's true, the HPS games will play any .wav file in the folder. I have a collection of the best songs of all the BG and HPS games in my HPS Gettysburg. I have also added some of the best military marches from PTW to my Waterloo and Jena. Unfortunately, the HPS Nappy games re-use all the same few French marches from Eckmuhl and Wagram over and over ... but this is a remedy. (Not to mention that Eckmuhl quite anachronistically has modern Austrian marches from ca. 1900 such as the Deutschmeistermarsch.)

I added music from david kincaid to some of the hps games and it makes play much more enjoyable. For those of you who dont know him, definately give him a listen, you wont be disappointed.

Gettysburg, as far as i know, never had music. I had bought the original version (you know, the black background and crossed flags) when it came out, then got the others as they were released. I remember i played Ken Burns Civil War CD in my player after loading up BGG. That was my music. Whippersnappers.

At last, I managed to find an audio cd of the soundtrack to the film 'Glory'. I got hold of it on e-bay. I used a free download tool to convert all the tracks into .wav format and have replaced the original music files. The results are very...satisfying. I hope this stirring music from a great film will inspire me to to inflict crushing defeats on my Reb opponents!

But...does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the relative volumes of the background music & sound effects? I am finding that if I have the music turned up loud enough to actually hear, then the sound effects are VERY loud indeed. Far too loud in fact. Some other games have 'slider' controls to adjust sound volumes, what are my options with the HPS games?
