Are there any tutorials covering the brdge limit and repair feature? I just started a Corinth campaign and wondered if there is any benefit to my blasting the hell out of bridges with Artillery to deny them to my enemy. It doesn't seem very realistic in some ways, but if I can knobble the bridges it will make my opponents life somewhat harder.
On the minus side it takes time and a lot of ammo to do it and the bridges can be repaired in time. What were the designers thinking? is this a good feature or not?

Normally I will melee the bridge. The Rebs certainly seldom have enough artillery ammo to waste shells on it. When Corinth first came out you couldn't rebuild bridges, so the Yanks in one scenario simply blew the bridge, leaving the Mississippi Militia even more useless than usual on the wrong side of the river.

As Mike says melee them if at all possible. I only use artillery fire if I have already destroyed a bridge and am trying to slow its rebuilding from long range but it is usually more effective to fire at the units doing the repair.
