I have a big HPS Chickamauga battle going on where I have managed to isolate a large Reb force against the creek. A number of captured Reb guns are now behind my line and each new turn...a bunch of Reb Colonel Anonymous' are 'spawning' on the un-crewed guns in my rear!
6 officers last turn. Of course, my opponent tried to get them to safety but it just wasn't possible and once I had overcome my surprise I bagged the lot of them.
Trouble is: I can see this happening for a few turns yet and it's all a bit quirky. I guess I could come to an agreement to let them retreat off the map? but is there any chance that it could be changed so replacement officers only appear on Infantry or Cavalry units AND crewed Artillery only?

Anonymous officers appear with a unit of that command in which their predecessor has become a casualty. As long as a unit of that command is left, they will continue to appear. Now if that command has been eliminated and only captured batteries are left, obviously they seem to appear with those batteries. Of course it's nonsense and should be changed so that they only appear with a fighting unit ...
