American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC)

I like to research little factoids for the games I play, and I found a great unexpected site about BG Meredith.

The two great things I discovered is

A. I lived near Cambridge City for over a year (alas, I never checked out the memorial)

and

B. How the General got to Wayne County, Indiana.

He walked from North Carolina. As the site says
"GENERAL SOL MEREDITH. May 29, 1810 ~ October 21, 1875
Solomon Meredith walked to Wayne County from North Carolina at the age of 19."

The General was a division commader of the Iron Brigade

( Meredith received a promotion to brigadier general and replaced Gibbon (promoted to a different division) as the commander of the Iron Brigade)
