 Post subject: One Man's Hero

You know the old saying, "The winners write the history"....Certain people come out heroes and certain ones are villified. An example might be that man Sherman who is greatly honored though a strong case for him being considered a war criminal can easily be made. It is all a matter of ones point of view. Meanwhile Confederate monuments and reminders of Southern heritage are being slowly eradicated all over the South by the politically correct crowd.

I look around the club today and am sometimes reminded that history repeats itself even here. I think of times Notso long ago, and think alas of where we have come to. Yes, one mans hero can be another mans villian, and visa versa.

So let me ask a follow-up question - how would one go about objectively evaluating that person instead of letting "the winners write the history"?
