If you are playing with the Optional Rule "Artillery Capture" checked and you kill an enemy Crew - then capture the guns while uncrewed - can you then recrew the battery and move the guns? Or, are they stationary like regular captured guns with that rule checked?

I know, random question, but someone asked me and I didnt have the complete answer so I am turning to all you more experienced veterans for some help.

Thanks!

I may get my series crossed up. . . but, here goes.

If arty capture isn't checked what happens is that the guns just get taken off the map when captured. So in order to ever capture guns, the option has to be checked - and it works the same way as taking them in melee; you can change facing and fire - there is no recrewing, like if they were your own guns.

If they are enemy guns you can only capture them and fire them as long as you occupy the hex. You can't recrew or limber them.

If they are your guns and you recapture them then they come under the normal recrewing rules.

Hopefully that answers it.
