Gentlemen <salute>

First, a salute to the Army of the Shenandoah! While the AotToothless dodged all challenges to present a single division to meet us, the AotS organized four teams ready to offer battle. The AotS is a fine organization and we look forward to the upcoming battles.

The Yankee high command was probably hoping to see us overwhelmed and forced to back down a bit. My apologies, however this is not the case. I am honored to report that we have fielded teams to meet all four AotS teams, in addition to the MP Battle that was already in progress against a team of officers from the AotC (with a guest appearance by General Meyer). Gator Alley now has 5 teams organized for MP Battles, with each of our six officers engaged in at least one battle. You didn't really think we'd go away, did you?

The AotS just hopes the AotM can stick around for the finish. :P

Suh, my compliments! We are but a division of the mighty Army of the Mississippi.

I will reply to your post with a simple question: How will the Army of the Shenandoah feel when a single division kicks its rear?

Highest regards,

Gen. Hebert,Sir, Gator Bloom turn is on its way. I;ve never been kicked in the rear by ballet slippers before, but here in the north, we wear steel-toed boots! Prepare your forces, the Juggernaut approaches.

Gentlemen <salute>

The latest reports from the front on the confrontation between Gator Alley and the Army of the Shenandoah:

"Gator Scrap" being fought at HPS Corinth between the Gators under the command of Brigadier General Tom Moore and a team from VI Corps commanded by Lieutenant General Ambros Tremel is progressing, with latest reports indicating a solid minor victory thus far by our forces.

"Gator Oats" being fought at HPS Gettysburg betwen the Gators under my command against a team from the 1st Division, VIII Corps commanded by Lieutenant General Ned Simms has completed 20 turns with our forces just shy of 600 points to the advantage in a draw. His gracious offer to allow our surrender was refused, of course. We did manage to offer a solution to his latrine problem as well

"Gator Bloom" being fought at HPS Gettysburg between the gators under my command against a team commanded by Lieutenant General Niall Murphy has yet to see any contact although forces are coming into view of each other. A draw with 6 turns completed.

"Gator Klebbe" being fought again at HPS Gettysburg between the Gators under my command against a team from 3rd Division, VIII Corps commanded by Brigadier General Dave Kleebe has also yet to see contact with forces now coming into view. A draw with 6 turns completed. I will add that this is my first contact with Dave Klebbe, and he is a true gentleman. It has been a pleasure to meet him.

Hats off to the Army of the Shenandoah for assembling such a number of officers for battle! As for my Gators, you have no equal. Four 4-man teams for MP battles at the drop of a hat is an awesome accomplishment, on top of a MP battle already in progress. You do Nicodemus proud!

I would like to add that each team leader should be sure to register the game and notate it in the "comments" section as a Gator Challenge match-Drex

Drex, all four battles are in the DoR although I believe only a couple were commented as being part of "Gator Challenge". That can be fixed when they are closed out.

No problem, Neal. I wasn't sure if our teams were participating and checking the DoR is the easiest way to track things as long as the games are registered.

Gentlemen <salute>

The topic has aged somewhat, so Nicodemus thought it necessary to provide an update to the "Gator Challenge" battles against the mighty AotS. You might remember (or not) that we were forced to accept the mulitple challenges because the AotToothless wasn't able to assemble a single division to meet us

The latest reports from the front on the confrontation between Gator Alley and the Army of the Shenandoah:

"Gator Scrap" being fought at HPS Corinth between the Gators under the command of Brigadier General Tom Moore and a team from VI Corps commanded by Lieutenant General Ambros Tremel is progressing. Latest reports indicate that dusk has set in and the Yankees are suffering a major defeat. 4 turns remain to be played.

"Gator Oats" being fought at HPS Gettysburg betwen the Gators under my command against a team originally commanded by Lieutenant General Ned Simms. The Yankee team has seen a reduction in members, having lost Ned Simms and Mike Seger for unknown reasons (to us). The remaining members of the Yankee team (Ernie Fantini and Tim Wheeler) are attempting to capitalize on the advantage gained during the day's fighting, however dusk is approaching. The Yankee team is currenlty 205 points on the positive side of a draw. 42 of 200 turns have been completed.

"Gator Bloom" being fought at HPS Gettysburg between the gators under my command against a team commanded by Lieutenant General Niall Murphy. The Yankee strategy has been to oppose our infantry with their cavalry, with the expected results. Our forces enjoy a solid minor victory with 25 of 200 turns completed.

"Gator Klebbe" being fought again at HPS Gettysburg between the Gators under my command against a team from 3rd Division, VIII Corps commanded by Brigadier General Dave Kleebe has yet to see any major contact. 23 of 200 turns have been completed, with a draw the current result.

Submitted with highest regards,

Gatorbloom: Our strategy wasn't to oppose your infantry with cavalry, it just worked out that way and that will soon change.

Suh, it started off as a minor scrap with a few dismounted cavalry and the next thing we know we're in contact with the whole cavalry corps! We deployed the entire corps and went after 'em; I don't know what else we could have done.

I don't blame you but the cavalry were just protecting a flank which you saw as an opportunity to exploit. It wasn't part of an offensive. We were waiting on the other fellas to come up. The union is at a starting disadvantage becausee the roads are so congested.
