I just placed a post for an opponent needed in the "non sanctioned games" section of the opponent finder forum. Looking at it and the number of postings / replies in that area I thought that it might amount to the same as putting up a flyer in the dark corner of a locked room ...with few people actually reading and even less people likely to respond to the advert.

What is the club / member policy & opinion on the pratice of using "bump" threads in other (more populated) forums to draw attention to specific posts in other areas? (as I have effectively just done!). I expect 10 times as many people will go and read my post now as would have if I had just relied on it's potential to draw attention where it is ...and ultimately my chance of gaining a response is much improved.

Most members appear to at least have a glance at the main club board without bothering to sign in and check through all the different forums.

A member only has to sign in ONCE to use all the forums. All members SHOULD be able to see the forums after logging in.

Members that are looking or games would go to the opponents wanted pages. I have not seen very many challenges go unanswered for very long.

But, I do not think there is any restrictions on what you post and where, but make sure you are posting the actual challenge in the proper forum.

Personally, I do not think that "notice" or "bump" threads are any more useful than the original post, for attracting opponents.
