Dont ask how I found this sad little page but it will make you shake your head what people are teaching as Civil War History. I only hope that teachers are smart enough not to take everything they find on the web as fact.

What did I learn at school?

Shiloh was the first major battle of the Civil War! In 1861!
The Confederates won the Battle of Antietam (eh, lots not open that can of worms)!
Fredericksburg was a minor battle with less than 5,000 Casualties!
Gettysburg is actually in the state of Virginia! Who knew!?
Gatling Guns were used at Gettysburg, Virginia (or so the picture leads you to believe)!
Grant, despite being a proper name, is not capitalized!
And Lee was defeated at Fort Blakely, Alabama, in 1865.

Very sad little piece.

http://www.teachthecivilwar.com/

And http://community.compuserve.com/n/pfx/f ... s-civilwar

Are interesting sites that seem to concentrate on education, the right way.

Blake, I don't believe that site is much used by teachers.
