Greetings All!

I am a newly enlisted member of the ACWGC and am very excited to come on board. I only recently discovered this universe of games, coming here from the world of board wargames...after having realized that real-life commitments and young kids made the the board games that I loved to stockpile were impractical for actual playing! I picked up the Antietam and Gettysburg games in the recent winter sale and am already kicking myself for not buying more of them at the time. I am really looking forward to getting involved and starting to try and get better at the games - it looks like a great group of folks here.

Take care.

Welcome.

I think your experience in boardgames should be invaluable in playing the WDS games. Just think of the WDS games as another boardgame with a different set of rules. Learn the rules and you should do well. Your VMI trainer and many others in the CSA will be happy to assist you along the way.

I understand the forthcoming 'Equal Force Challenge' tournament is based on the Gettysburg title so you have purchased a useful one at a good time. There are several good and well-balanced scenarios in the Antietam title too.

Welcome Dave,

You are very welcome to the ACWGC and it's merry 'Band of Brothers'

Despite not buying all the games you may have wanted you nonetheless picked up two very good games and with Gettysburg in particular opening up a whole universe of wonderful gaming in the 2024 Challenge currently underway. As Paul noted, your board game background should stand you in good stead, learn the rules and the how the system plays and you should have no problems.

Good luck with your VMI training.

Thanks everyone! I was a bit nervous to join so quickly since I only acquire the games a few days earlier, but based on conversations I've had with the "welcoming committee" (I just made that term up to encompass everyone that has reached out thus far) it sounds like it will work well to dive right into playing PBEM games rather than playing exclusively solo or against the AI - although considering that most of the board wargames I've played in the last few years have been solo, I have to admit that it has been fun and nice to play against the game's AI, even though I know it is not thought of very highly. Thanks again for the welcomes and I look forward to everything.

Cadet Hicks,

Greetings! It has been a pleasure getting to know you and welcoming you to the ACWGC!

You are traveling a road that just about everyone here traveled even with the same trepidation!

I know as I attempted to apply twice before finally getting up the nerve to submit my application!

Lots of good and friendly gamers here to get to know and game against that will last a lifetime!

Again, welcome to the ACWGC!

Respectfully,

Your Obedient Servant,

General Nick Kunz
Commanding,
2nd Corps, AoT
