Having fought 146 battles in my 4 1/2 years in this club, I have had the pleasure of meeting (over cyber space) many great players, some I would even think of now as friends.

Of that 149, 34 have ended in defeat, with 8 draws.

I have lost to Lt's and Generals alike, but the one name that always sticks out in my mind whenever I think of a player I could NEVER beat is.
<b>"John Gremmels" </b>
formally of the AoO, he is by far the best player I have had the pleasure of losing to, mainly because I learnt more in those defeats (6 of them) than I have in all the victorys put together.

I am also at this time receiving a new set of lessons from a former colleague, who turned to the dark side, Ned is skilled in the art of war no matter what colour the uniform and his knowledge of the finer workings of the battleground games far outstrips mine, proving we should never be to old or confident to learn and adapt our style of play.

Gen Ian Rousell

The best and most challenging opponent I have played is General Kelly
Ross. We have played regularly for over five years, and I have learned much from him.

There have been many fine opponents, but the person that has caused me the most grief in all my matches has been David Groce.

Surely there are more officers in the club that would love to share with us their finest opponents.

I am taking this to mean our most difficult foe. I have been beaten soundly by Dusty Arnold,Gerry Cope and Pat Dunkerly, I thought Ross McDaniels would be my toughest opponent then Kennon Whitehead came along. I sensed that he was really playing over my head and on a whim I looked up his track record. EGADS!! Has he ever lost? I would pay money to see a mirror match between Kennon and Ross!!
