I live in Annapolis and the Naval Academy has a very good visitors center. They also have a pretty good bookstore with many naval publications. I checked it out a lot when I was heavy into Harpoon but haven't recently so it may have changed. There's Alumni Hall which lists all the alumni killed in action. There's also a building there that houses a bunch of ship models.

Every once and a while when I'm there I see someone leading a tour but don't know if that's standard. The chapel contains the remains of John Paul Jones.

If you need anything more Bill, just let me know.

Yes, the British rockers of the '60s-'70s have played a vital role in our Navy, I understand. [8D]

Hi Bill,
When I was last at the Academy (Plebe year 1960) there was a good Visitors' Center. I only got to see it upon entry. I only hope it has continued and, perhaps, continually upgraded.

Ah, The Internet. Such a wonderful place to find information. [:D]

Noted this at the museum info:

"American Wars" Gallery
Our national freedom has been guaranteed by the sacrifices of our fighting men. Here the visitor can see the armor of colonial militiamen and the muddy jungle fatigues of the Vietnam "grunt". The British drum surrendered at Saratoga, George Washington's pistols, field glasses used by General G.K. Warren at Gettysburg and the last message sent by George A. Custer at the Battle of Little Big Horn are displayed. Also in this gallery is the Medal of Honor Wall, which commemorates those USMA graduates who have received our Nation's highest award. "

I checked out Custer's last message. It said:

"Where the heck did all these Indians come from?"[:D][:D][:D]

I was in West Point in March: although I did not make it to the museum myself many of my fellow reenactors did and said it was great!
