A crisp spring morning, brings the AoA commander out from his tent. Sipping his chickory and glancing at slit trenches behind General Weir's row of tents, his troops still sleeping soundly.

His thoughts running to finding the appropriate accomodations, should the Captain be approved....and somehow find his way through the pickets to AoA.

Trust Larry to go the wrong way, sigh [V]. I guess we just have to use a siege mortar then, only thing with a large enough bore. Shame to waste the powder though, so maybe we'll just use him as tamping for a regular shell.

[:D]General Moose I'm sure you will go far in the Rebel Army. Your abilities as "Field" commander already far exceed most of those barefoot soldier wannabes. Best of luck you dear moose, keep your antlers down and your powder dry.

Oh yeah Larry see you later.

In regard to throwing them in the river, I'd assume that Notso is a swimmer but based on appearances Gen Moose is a definite floater.

I heard today that a passenger train collapsed a railroad trestle and fell into the Potomac River. There was such a splash that the Potomac was a dry river bed for about six hours. That can mean only one thing - Lulu is on her way south, following her beloved.

Sir,

I regard to Miss Lulu, I was assigned the unenviable task of trying to provide billeting and forage for her - not an easy task for a being with her own postal code.

I started by trying to measure her girth by placing a mark with a piece of chalk, reaching as far as I could with my arms then placing another mark with the chalk, etcetera. After an hour of reaching and marking, I met this other fellow coming round the other way with a two day beard and tales of the horror I'd encounter towards the posterior.

At this point I gave up on direct measurement as I had no way of estimating her displacement and of course it's impolite to ask a "lady" (in the loosest possible sense) her weight.

I was at this point reduced to indirect measurement by theodolite, diffraction grating and algebra to infer her size. Unfortunately, this sort of thing seems to have spooked her.

She promptly stuck a quarter of a roast pig in her pocket, grabed a bucket of BBQ sauce as well as a twelve pack of Diet Coke and started lumbering off bellowing "SSSSWWWWEEEEEETTTTIIEEEE!" in a voice like an anvil chorus. I, for one, was most impressed. Once she got up a head of steam, literally nothing could restrain her from climbing onto that poor, benighted, groaning flatcar.

I can only imagine the post traumatic stress the poor crew of the ill fated train will have from the sight! There were more things moving when she ran than a vigorously shaken bag full of wolverines.

A somewhat shaken,

Chuck Berdanier

Official Dispatch

The War planners in Washington felt that sending Larry Quick and his inevitable (and unenviable![}:)]) entourage to the South would not only shorten the War in our favor by some several months due to what is loosely termed his "tactical brilliance" (the War College have seen brighter lumps of coal), it would also reduce Union casualties as a result of fewer Rebs to fight (see posts on manpower needed for obtaining forage for Lulu and "Rebs taste like chicken" to understand why fewer Johnnies would be around).
