Surprising fighting near the sunken road, as the Union
continues to push forward in the dark, gaining a few
precious yards. But the cost now is prohibitive, as
the artillery are now firmly established for the
rebels. Tomorrow's first light will produce some very
hard fighting, and will last the whole day. Many men
will falter, it remains to be seen if they can be
replaced....
