First Bull Run, Va. July 21, 1861.

When the Civil War began in April 1861, most Americans expected the conflict to be brief, with one titanic battle deciding the outcome.
Commanding the largest field army yet seen in North America, US Brigadier-General Irvin McDowell was under pressure from the politicians to begin an advance.
On July 18 the Confederate government ordered CS Brigadier-General Joseph E. Johnston to evacuate Winchester and join CS Brigadier-General P.G.T. Beauregard at Manassas Junction.
After many delays, McDowell ordered his army forward early on July 21. The first major battle of the American Civil War is about to begin.

One USA and one CSA officers are needed to play this scenario.
The first two officers to reply to this topic will fight the battle.
You will fight for 44 points for the 1st HACW.

The battle can be played at your choice on BGBR 03.The First Battle of Bull Run (49 turns) or on the custom scenario First Manassas.scn (49 turns) that can be found at the ACWCGDC . http://www.brettschulte.net/ACWCGDC/index.html

Important: For BGBR 03 version, Special Rule concerning Cocke's 18th Va and 28th VA. This two fixed regiments (hexes 71,45 and 72,46) can't be surrounded by the Union player and the path to the nearby ford at hex 70,46 can't be obstructed. This rule apply until the start of the 8 am turn.

Very serious affair here, lots of points, good luck gentlemen.

Fld. Lt. Harold Lajoie 3/2/I/AoM, CSA.

Ok, I'll bite if an opponent shows up soon. I'd be up for the standard BGBR03. Also, I doubt if I'll be able to fight the entire war but I'll get things going if that's ok.

I will be happy to take up this challenge. I won the battle for "Fight the War" maybe I can pull it off again for this one.[;)]
