General McOmish,
Cam,
It appears that the battle is all but over, Sir! A Union Major Victory, of course!
But honestly it was a matter of Yankee treachery for the most part. I had a significant amount of troops show up behind Brig. General Broadhead and he was unaware of their presence and in this particular scenario... 003 1BR.BullRunV.1 allows for the gaining of Victory Points when you exit troops off the map at an enemy objective hex. I ran a bunch of units off the board to achieve a Major Victory. When I realized that James was not aware of this possibility... I offered to restart the scenario but he refused and decided to press on in hopes that my depleted Army strength would be an advantage to him.
In essence, he was quite right about that and skillfully shifted a significant portion of his Army to attack me on my right flank and was pressing his own boys towards my objective hexes. I think there may have been a good chance of success by employing this well thought out strategy... except for the fact that this is only a 42 turn scenario and he ran out of time to complete the maneuver.
We are currently on turn 37 of 42... I have offered James a termination bid as it does appear he'll fall short of his goal before the final turn.
I can only commend Brig. General Broadhead. A most excellent player who will bring many victories to the Army of the Alabama in the days ahead!
