Reg. (?) Gaskell,

The King's Own is pretty much my own regiment ... Also the British Army Roster shows you as officer of the RNAC, something I would know ... What's wrong here?

I have to admit ... anyway, at least I will have the better claim Just in case, where precisely would that swampland be?

This was not the original objective of this posting, but:

I have had the 4th ROF Royal Lancaster (King's Own) ever since the NWC started.
When I joined CCC, (as far as I know, not far from when it started) I registered my affiliation as British Army, and the 4th ROF (etc).

I have no idea why I was allocated to RNAC, as I asked for the British Army, and that I had been using the 4th ROF for years in the NWC. I would be more than happy to transfer me and my regiment to the British Main force.

Background:
The 4th ROF Royal Lancaster (King's Own) is a British Line Regiment with its history from an age before Napoleaon, through a diversion in the Americas, and through most British engagements up to the present day (1680 - 1959 -> ) although it became the 4th in 1751.

Well, then we are both the 4th, if in different times. Maybe we should establish a regimental partnership ... BTW, thanks for pointing to the website ... interesting information that the regiment was commanded by Pitt the Younger's brother during the war of 1812!

sounds good to me .. It is a very good regiment, so I don't see any reason why there cannot be several affiliations to it.

A quick question - I checked the Web Pages, and could not find any reference to me in the RNAC. There is in the Provincial Forces list as part of the 2nd Brigade British Legion. Does that autoamtically imply that I am part of the RNAC.

all the best

Colin

Colin, I think your unit needs to be moved out of the Provincials and into the British Regular Army of 1776. I will take off the link to the "1812" army on the British Actives and link you to the British Main army pending your unit's transfer.
