Submit it to WDS and see what they say.

These games have hundreds of variables (thousands?) and people still find things from time to time for sure. I am more afraid that in order to fix a one in a million issue that they accidently tweak a much more important issue. But that's just me.

Simple Answer: The old system of three in the rear and one in the front is no longer in place. That used to be a thing but WDS got rid of it. I assume to reduce the number of captures. And, yes, units can retreat forward into free hexes. Don't shoot the messenger I am just telling you what's what. ...

The A/I is a great opponent to play to learn the basics of movement and combat. But A/I will not surprise you or think for itself which is what a human opponent will always be doing. The learning curve against humans is very high and you will lose more than you win against seasoned opponents. But ov...

Excellent use of the DOR, sir! You are correct about those titles being less popular than others when it comes to playability in a man vs. man contest. Most people (but definitely not all) look for medium to large-scale battles to play against another human opponent. I would also argue that meeting...

Hell by the Acre: A Narrative History of the Stones River Campaign, November 1862-January 1863 Daniel A. Masters Few soldiers on either side, though, received specialized training in how to use the gun’s long-range capabilities [rifled musket]. A bullet fired from such a weapon did not fly in a lev...

Since Mahone starts out with an F rating, when he fails a Command Test the game just makes him a "G" which is the lowest rating ("0").

It's like he's not even there :D

In WDS Chickamauga the town of Perryville is made up of roughly 42 Town Hexes. Perryville had a population of roughly 400 people in 1862. In WDS Gettysburg the town of Gettysburg is made up of under 30 Town Hexes. Gettysburg had a population of roughly 2,390 people in 1863. In WDS Chancellorsville ...

The guides are rated as neutrally as possible. Scenarios that are one-sided are not fun for anyone to play. The ratings are just my opinion and, as I write on the main page, no two people would arrive at the same conclusions I did. But I wanted to at least give everyone an opinion on scenarios to st...

I'm surprised so many eschew the enhanced realism of EFOW because of the nuisance of being unable to see from a hex where nobody is, but to each their own. What I usually do is look for a promising hex and send a mounted officer to investigate before moving a unit there. I don't see anything gamey ...

Truthfully, I can fly the First Confederate National Flag all day long at work or anywhere else and nobody has any clue what it is, lol.

They could make a House Rule. But as a wily gaming veteran such a rule would totally benefit me against any person less experienced. Any newbie should avoid such House Rules which limit their ability to scout the board as it puts them at a disadvantage.

If we could have EFoW without LoS restrictions I would use it because I like the uncertainty that other things in EFoW provide. 100% agree. ExFoW isn't all bad but it's largest drawback is the LoS restrictions. These are unnecessary and useless as there is a simple workaround that everyone can/does...

I'm always on the lookout for some instrumental Civil War music to play while I am working on a turn. I ran across Craig Duncan's two albums and found them both really solid. They are nothing ground-breaking but simply excellent instrumental renditions of Civil War classics. One album has northern ...
