My Wife: Why do you need such a giant American flag? Me: There's no such thing as an American flag that's too large. Wife: What are you even going to do with it? Me: Oh, I have plans! IMG_7502.JPEG I still have more decorating to do before the 4th of July but I am getting there. Kind of wishing I g...

Gentlemen, I am pleased to award the following medals to these fine and honorable Confederate officers who earned notable accolades during the 2nd Quarter of 2025. Sirs, The DOR information has been updated to include all the results registered in June. This closes out the 2nd Quarter of 2025 and all applicable Admin Points have been distributed and medals determined. The Club registered a total of 30 games in June with a combined 1,181 turns played. The Club...

I always use Rout Limiting also. Anyone who remembers the old Battleground games probably recalls the massive routing which would occur. Talonsoft added Rout Limiting as an option not too long after their initial releases I believe. I'm legitimately surprised it hasn't been hardwired into the games ...

Mixed Org Penalty should be on every time. Paul will disagree with his dying breath but that's alright.

Hi Rich, You are correct. In the new DOR you only register the game at its completion. One of the oddities in the old DOR was that, over time, many members never closed incomplete games. Therefore, a member might have started a game in 2015 and when you viewed their dossier it would display them as ...

Just a quick review of "Corinth 1862: Siege, Battle, Occupation" by Timothy B. Smith (2012). I've read other books by Smith in the past and had high hopes with this one. The siege of Corinth is not a very well-covered Civil War event and getting to learn more about it was a big reason I w...

Every member in the Club is listed in the Records as one of two things - Active or Inactive. This goes back to the creation of the old DOR in 2001. A member who is Active is someone who is currently in the Club and mustering. This includes all members whether they are new or old or in the Reserves o...

I agree with the statement: One of the chief reasons that people join and maintain membership in the ACWGC is to utilize our Opponent Finder. The Opponent Finder is available to only Active Members within the ACWGC. Another thing which is done on the forums is voting, and also simply making posts, ...

I therefore propose and suggest that members who, "fail to meet the mustering requirements or members that leave the Club" should be listed in the Department of Records as 'DISCHARGED' My reasoning behind this proposal being that such members either failed to fulfil the requirements of th...

1. There will no longer be a Leave of Absence or a Hospital category unless the GinC creates such a category (under 2.5.5) and even if it is created, if that absence lasts longer than 3 months then that member is moved to the Inactive List? 2. I too consider the wording and location of 2.5.5 a bit ...

Offering 6 months until being made Inactive & Discharged would be generous I think. It'd allow someone who might be busy or ill enough time to get word out or reply to a muster call. Especially since we're not officially looking at a hospital or LoA status if the rules are adopted. I think 6 mo...

Two changes do seem very odd to me. 1. The removal of the current Rule 2.1.3.1: 2.1.3.1: Fraudulent Enlistment is an enlistment by a former member while expelled, or by an individual already a member, or by a former member under an alias for the purpose of concealing past unacceptable disruptive be...
